The Crow’s Nest
Managing Your Mundane Like A Queen
About This Course
Find the Treasure Hiding in Your Ordinary Days
The Crow’s Nest was born from my slightly unusual obsession with crows and my ongoing dream of convincing an entire murder of them to move into my backyard and become my friends.
I know. It’s a very specific dream.
But the more I’ve learned about these fascinating birds, the more I’ve come to appreciate the way they move through the world. Crows are incredibly intelligent and resourceful. They notice what others overlook, remember what matters, form relationships, and have quite the eye for interesting finds.
That sounds a lot like the way I want to move through my own life.
I want to notice more.
Not because every day is exciting or beautiful or profound, but because most of our lives are lived right in the middle of the ordinary. If I’m always waiting for the big moments before I pay attention, I’m going to miss an awful lot of what God has placed around me.
The Crow’s Nest is a creative faith journaling course about learning to see those ordinary things differently.
Throughout the course, you’ll learn from a collection of creative teachers who will each bring their own artistic style, techniques, and perspective to the idea of gathering and creating. We’ll use found papers, scraps, everyday objects, collected treasures, words, Scripture, memories, and unexpected materials to make journal pages filled with meaning and story.
You’ll learn art techniques, experiment with different materials, and stretch your creativity, but this isn’t your everyday art class. We aren’t creating simply for the sake of making something pretty.
At Kim Pepper Creative, we believe creativity can become a way to experience God in the day to day.
When we slow down enough to notice the torn piece of paper, the handwritten note, the old book page, the tag we almost threw away, or the tiny detail we normally wouldn’t give a second thought, we begin practicing a different kind of attention. And that practice can spill over into our faith.
We begin noticing provision. We remember people. We recognize beauty. We become grateful for things we’ve taken for granted. We see evidence of God’s creativity everywhere, and ordinary moments begin to feel a little less ordinary.
By the end of the course, your journal will become your own little Crow’s Nest, filled with things you noticed, gathered, created, remembered, and discovered along the way.
My hope isn’t that you finish this course and suddenly start hoarding every interesting scrap of paper you see—although, if we’re being realistic, that may happen.
My hope is that you begin looking at your everyday life differently.
Take the bird’s-eye view. Keep an eye out for treasure. Appreciate what you already have. Share the good stuff. Stay curious.
And when you discover beauty hiding in the mundane, remember Who put it there.
The Crow’s Nest is a creative faith journaling course that transforms found papers, everyday scraps, collected treasures, and overlooked materials into meaningful art journal pages. Through mixed media, Scripture, storytelling, and creative exploration, you’ll learn to notice beauty in ordinary things and discover God’s presence in what is already around you.

START TODAY — WITH WHAT YOU ALREADY HAVE
You don’t need a perfectly stocked art room to take this course.
In fact, we’d rather you start by looking around.
Open the junk drawer. Dig through your paper scraps. Save the tag from something you bought. Pull out an old book page. Notice the packaging you normally throw away. Look through the little pieces you’ve collected because they were simply too interesting to toss.
The Crow’s Nest is about learning to see possibility in what is already there.
You don’t need expensive supplies, advanced art skills, or a perfectly planned journal. You simply need a willingness to gather, experiment, and pay attention.
As you work through the course, you’ll discover that creativity doesn’t always begin with something new. Sometimes it begins with noticing something old, ordinary, forgotten, or overlooked and asking:
What could this become?
And as we practice noticing creatively, we’ll practice noticing spiritually too.
Where has God provided?
What have you overlooked?
What small thing is worth remembering?
What beauty has been sitting right in front of you?
Start today.
Gather a few scraps. Open your journal. Look around with fresh eyes.
You might be surprised by how much treasure is already there.
